About us
itSMF Indiana University was established in 2008 by Professor Ramesh Venkataraman, Chairman of the MSIS program at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University (Info). The goal was to allow knowledge and information related to IT Service Management and ITSM best practices to percolate to the level of university students so we can apply these concepts in a professional environment. itSMF Indiana University is aligned to itSMF USA, and our parent LIG is the Ohio Valley LIG.
The goals for 2011, set over the course of fall 2010, include :
• leading another university to becoming a part of itSMF
• enabling preparation for ITIL and ISO certifications
• creating and managing a speaker series
• hosting a case competition and a debate competition
• holding an onsite visit
The board held regular meetings to plan these events, and also participated (along with student members) in an OV-LIG meeting in Cincinnati in October '10. This opportunity proved to be a thoroughly enriching learning experience for all the student stakeholders, as we got a first-hand feel of what it was like to participate in a discussion on service management where real-life ITSM issues were put forth and addressed.
We have a lot planned for 2011, and hope it is a successful year!
